A burglar spotted leaving the crime scene crashed and flipped over on the Interstate 20 on-ramp as he attempted to escape police Wednesday morning.

Devin Waller, 29, of Decatur was arrested and charged with burglary, theft by taking, fleeing and attempting to elude, and obstruction.

According to Conyers Police Department Lt. Jack Dunn, around 11 a.m. today a witness called 911 after they spotted Waller kicking in the door to a home on Park Place near Pine Log park and leaving with items from the home.

Conyers police officers spotted Waller in a silver compact car on Pine Log Road and Ga. Highway 138 and attempted to stop him.

Waller continued to flee, driving off the road and getting a flat tire in the process. Waller then attempted to get onto the on-ramp to Interstate 20 from Ga. Highway 138 and crashed into a tree, flipping over the vehicle, said Dunn.

Waller got out of the flipped vehicle and tried to run but was shot with a Taser and placed under arrest.

He was transported to Atlanta Medical Center and released and booked into the Rockdale County jail.
