Summer skills: About 200 middle schoolers and more than 250 elementary school students spent part of their summer break learning exciting new skills during one of the many enrichment camps held at the Rockdale Career Academy, June 13-17. Camps for grades 2-4 covered topics such as the rainforest, ancient Egypt, and creative story telling. Camps for grades 6-8 included "Kidding Around," "Breaking News" - where students learned the nuts and bolts of a live news broadcast, "A Taste of the Caribbean," "Cooking Up Culture," and "Creative Technology."

Laneza said she signed up because she wanted to learn more about cars. "A lot of my family work on cars," she said. Her dream vehicle would be a Lamborghini Diablo or Murcielago.
