Brother Kenneth Sullivan, 85, monk of the Monastery of the Holy Spirit, died peacefully at the monastery's infirmary on Monday, Dec. 2.

The burial service at the celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial was Dec. 6 at the Abbey church.

Sullivan was born February 1928 in Newport, Rhode Island. His parents were Daniel Sullivan and Margaret (Shea) Sullivan. He enlisted into the Army Reserve in 1953 and served as a specialist 3rd class and chaplain's assistant. Sullivan entered Our Lady of the Holy Spirit Monastery in 1969 and made his solemn monastic vows on 1975. He served the monastic community as Store Manager for 17 years and also as mail clerk. 

He is survived by his brother, Daniel (Carolyn) of Little Compton, Rhode Island; his sister, Therese (Sullivan) Croteau of Newport, Rhode Island, and sister in law, Patricia (Moore) Sullivan of Portland Maine.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Vincent. Brother Ken is an alumni of De La Salle Academy in Newport and Portsmouth Abbey.
