The Pine Street Book Buddy Reading Program has been in existence for four years. It is comprised of 26 volunteers from the Conyers Presbyterian Church, one of the school’s Partners in Education, under the leadership of Cheryl McDermott, Director of Children’s Ministry. Each Monday morning the volunteers arrive at Pine Street before 8 a.m. to read for 45 minutes and mentor one-on-one with selected second grade students. McDermott coordinates with Teresa Tidwell, Academic Coach, and Charlotte Trammell, Parent Liaison.
