Early Wednesday morning Eastside High School in Newton County received a bomb threat against the school.
At approximately 7:10 a.m. the building was cleared, and reopened at 7:40 a.m.
According to Newton County School System Director of Public Relations Sherri Davis-Viniard, law enforcement was immediately notified and a thorough search of the building was conducted.
"No students or employees were allowed inside the building until it was confirmed that the school was safe and that the threat was a hoax," Davis-Viniard said.
