IN BRIEF: The Board of Commissioners declined to take up the question of whether to air on Channel 23 the candidate forum hosted by the Rockdale-Newton League of Women Voters and Conyers-Rockdale Chamber of Commerce, which is scheduled to take place Oct. 4 in the county's auditorium at 901 Main Street. The motion was introduced in today's BOC meeting by Commissioner JaNice Van Ness, who offered the remaining amount in her training and travel expense budget to cover the cost of recording the event, but the motion died for lack of a second from either Commissioner Oz Nesbitt or Chairman Richard Oden. Chairman Oden said he was looking at policies and procedures on how to decide what to air on the governmental access Channel 23. The county has been working on a draft of the policy since the question came up before the July 31 primary when a number of groups held candidate forums.
