Bill and Carolyn Kitchen will open their blueberry farm at 38 Knox Chapel Road, Social Circle, to customers for the 2009 season Monday, June 22. Patrons may pick their own blueberries for $1.50 per pound or purchase pre-picked 12-pint cartons for $30 each. Call 770-464-2412 to reserve a pre-picked order.

The Kitchens also provide picking containers and take-home containers as well as a wide variety of blueberry products including preserves, syrup, juices, mugs and cookbooks.

After picking your blueberries, visitors could have a Southern-style meal at the Blue Willow Inn, in downtown Social Circle, or visit Hard Labor Creek State Park, which is adjacent to the Kitchens' property.

Directions: Take I-20 east to Exit 98 (Ga. Highway 11, Social Circle). Turn left at light and go north on Highway 11 for 3 miles. Watch for Hard Labor Creek State Park sign and go right on Spring Road to stop sign, go right on E. Hightower Trail, go 2 miles to Knox Chapel Road and go left. Farm is 3.5 miles up on the right.
