Mae had lived in Conyers for the past 23 years, having moved here from Louisville, Ky., where she was an active member of Bardstown Presbyterian Church, serving there as a deacon. Mae was also a Kentucky Colonel in the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels, a nonprofit charitable organization. While living in Conyers, she was a very active member of Conyers Presbyterian Church, where she loved and appreciated her church family.  She was also a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees and AARP. Mae was blessed and her life extended by the efficient and loving care provided by Cynthia Clarke, Mae's caregiver for seven years.

The family will receive friends at Scot Ward Funeral Services at Green Meadow Memorial Gardens, 699 American Legion Road, Conyers, from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, June 3, 2012, to be followed by a memorial service in the chapel.  Pastor Thomas F.
