Even though Georgia has named four state champions, there is still some football yet to be played.

The Georgia High School Senior All Star Bowl has selected an East and West Metro team, with the East Metro team practicing at Salem High for Sunday's game at the Georgia Dome.

Salem's John Starr was selected to coach the East Metro team and brought several area coaches with him. From Salem are offensive coordinator Frank Caputo and John Starr Jr. From Heritage are East Metro defensive coordinator and Heritage head coach Chad Frazier, along with Andy Szatkowski and Jason Miska.

The area is also well represented on the field with three players from Heritage and three players from Salem.

Representing the Patriots are Quami Stanley, Brandon Campbell and Ryan Watson. Representing the Salem Seminoles are Kelvin Whitter, Brandon Culler and Jahaad Coleman.

Those six have seen each other on the field throughout their time in high school but for the first time are getting to be on the same sideline. They also get to see other players whom they have played against or heard of in different regions.

"It's just been good," Starr said. "There's a lot of camaraderie, seeing all the players. It's hard to describe; it's be been a blast.

"It's been unbelievable when you get to meet all the kids."
Starr is excited to get a chance to see not only Watson, Campbell and Stanley, who played against him since he's been at Salem, but also some of the other talent throughout the state.

"There's been a bunch of them," Starr said.

Starr said he has been impressed in practice so far with Markuss Eligwe of Stone Mountain and Dalvin Tomlinson of Henry County.

"What jumps out at you is their size; it's the impressive thing," Starr said.

Also with the level of talent shown by the players, college coaches have also descended on Salem. With bowl games still yet to be played, most of the coaches have been from Football Championship Series schools such as Eastern Kentucky and Georgia State.

The Georgia High School Senior All-Star Bowl puts together the top 100 Atlanta Metro High School seniors. The East Metro schools consist of DeKalb, Henry, Newton, Rockdale and Walton counties, while the West Metro team consists of Atlanta Public Schools system, Clayton, Douglas, Fayette and Fulton County schools.

Proceeds from the sales will support Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.

Tickets are $20 each and get you into all three games during All Star Sunday. At 8 a.m. there will be the DL Scott Youth Coalition Championship Bowl for 6-and-under through 14-and-under, followed by the Historically Black Colleges and Universities Senior All-Star game at 3 p.m. and the High School Senior All-Star Bowl at 6 p.m.
