Heritage

The back-and-forth season for Heritage continued last night, putting the Lady Patriots back on a high with a 2-1 win over Rockdale County that gives the girls two straight wins and an undefeated record where it really matters – in their region.

Heritage (10-7, 2-0 in region) has outscored opponents 18-3 in its last three wins, and has won three of four after losing back-to-back games the last week in August. The Lady Patriots have a tough matchup tomorrow, going across town to Salem before all region teams take a short break through the Labor Day weekend.

Tomorrow’s game marks the second of a four-game, 8B-AAAA region run that will see Heritage on the road until its next home game on Sept. 17 against Monroe Area.

Rockdale County

The Lady Bulldogs have dropped back-to-back games (both in-region) after a three-game winning streak that saw them take home the 2nd Annual Redskin Invitational Tournament crown on Saturday, Aug. 22.

Rockdale (7-3, 1-2) has an opportunity to make amends somewhat for last night’s loss when they host Griffin at 6 p.m. tonight at their new ballfield. The Bulldogs beat Griffin 9-0 one week ago tonight, and have feasted on non-region pitching in general.

The Lady Bulldogs get back from their Labor Day weekend break with a road game at Berkmar before hosting Salem at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 10.

Salem

The Lady Seminoles have mirrored every other team in town, alternating wins and losses early in the season and staying afloat.

Salem (7-4, 1-1) has been even more literally reflecting its wins and losses in region, dropping a 5-0 game against Loganville on Aug. 25, only to win a 5-0 contest versus Monroe Area last night. The Lady Seminoles have alternated wins and losses since posting victories in back-to-back games on Aug. 18 and 19.

The Lady Seminoles prepare for a weeklong break after hosting their rivals Heritage in a pivotal 8B-AAAA showdown tomorrow at 5 p.m.
