Amici Italian Café, a Madison-based restaurant chain, announced it plans to open a Conyers location in the Corner Market early next year.

Construction will begin next month on the restaurant building in the mixed-use commercial development by Four A International at Flat Shoals and Parker roads, Amici President Mike Torino told the News.

The 4,500-square-foot restaurant will have a full bar and an outside patio, and may eventually host live entertainment. It also will feature a private dining area and meeting rooms with media hook-ups.

“We want to be able to serve the community fully,” Torino said.

“We are so pleased that Amici Italian Café selected Conyers for its first metro Atlanta location,” said Marty Jones, executive director for Conyers Rockdale Economic Development Council. “We’re excited for the restaurant to become an active part of the thriving Conyers-Rockdale community, as Amici restaurants have been in the other Georgia communities in which they are located.”

“We are pleased to have Amici Italian Café join the growing list of in-demand restaurant and corporate tenants at Corner Market,” said Faye Phillips, associate director of the Corner Market Leasing and Management team. “Amici chose Corner Market because of its ideal location, providing easy access to high-quality Italian food for the literally thousands of residents and workers along the I-20 East corridor.”

Founded in Madison in 1993, Amici now has six locations around Georgia, including one in Covington.
