Rockdale County Post 2 Commissioner, JaNice Van Ness will host the second Rockdale Community Summit featuring a strategies session by the leadership and key staff members from Rockdale County government, Rockdale County Public Schools, the City of Conyers, Conyers Rockdale Economic Development Council and the Conyers Chamber of Commerce. The summit, being held Wednesday at 8:15 a.m., is the second in a series of meetings designed to unify efforts for planning and future growth. The session will provide an overview of each government’s initiatives since the last Rockdale Community Summit meeting and explore ways to synergize efforts. "The summit is designed to engage local leadership in our community to find common goals and look at possible areas to unify efforts for the betterment of Rockdale County," Rockdale County Commissioner, JaNice Van Ness said in a statement. "We have such a great group of leaders who want to work in a cohesive manner to keep Rockdale in the forefront of our State in all areas that affect quality of life; including education, economic development, beautification, and recreation. The public is welcome to attend to hear more about the vision for our community." Michael Hutcheson, Executive Director of Rockdale Coalition for Children and Families, will facilitate the summit at the JP CARR Community Center, 981 Taylor Street in Conyers.
