Ireland, the South come together to Celebrate Jesus

Shiloh United Methodist Church Rev. Mike Wadley was looking out on the Almon Ballfield and saw a vision.
That vision was a field dotted with chairs and full of people celebrating and worshiping Jesus. A stage was set up on one side with music bringing everyone together, and the other side was a crowd hearing witnessing.

Years later, Shiloh United Methodist Church is hosting its third Celebrate Jesus event on Saturday, October 3. The event begins at 5 p.m. and runs through 8 p.m., featuring the sounds of Simple Faith from Ireland and Hwy. 36 of Covington.

Simple Faith is a Southern Gospel Quartet from Belfast Ireland that has been touring together for 10 years. The quartet was voted Group of the Year at the first Northern Ireland Gospel Music Awards, also garnering the nod for Southern Gospel Album of the Year for “Go Tell the World” and the song “He Can & He Will” was voted Best Original Gospel Song of the Year.

Band members Glenn Mc-Clelland, Eddie Lister, Paul Cairns and Johnathan Welsh provide crowds across the U.S., U.K., Ireland and Norway their music and testimony. Rev. Wadley heard the band play a while ago, and thought it would be a perfect fit for Celebrate Jesus 2015. The group was on tour in the U.S. in Georgia and Alabama starting Sept. 30 and was available to come to Shiloh United Methodist.

Hwy. 36 is a Covington group that plays at the Music Barn on Hwy. 36, bringing a Southern Gospel sound.

Celebrate Jesus 2015, a free event, will also feature story teller Linda Richardson, children’s activities, drawings for $100 gift cards to Walmart and free food.
