First Presbyterian Church presents couples programs

First Presbyterian Church is presenting a free, three-part program, COUPLES, for those who are married, engaged or dating.

The program is being offered in conjunction with the Care & Counseling Centers of Georgia and will focus on a variety of issues for couples in different stages of life.

The first program is Sunday, Feb. 24 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., where the Rev. Billy Wade will give a presentation on a number of issues that emerge in dating, pre-marital and married relationships.

The second program is Sunday, March 3, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Rebecca Bates, a licensed professional counselor and a nationally certified counselor, will lead the audience through the Nonviolent Communication process and how to resolve differences compassionately and enhance relationships. A light breakfast will be provided at 9 a.m.

The last program will be Sunday March 3, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Licensed professional counselor Cindy Elrod, who holds a doctorate of philosophy in community/ organizational psychology, will give the final course on feelings and forgiveness and how to combine skills for managing difficult feelings in the context of finding forgiveness for yourself and others. Supper will be served, but reservations are required for the supper, which costs $5 per person.
Child care will be provided in some form for all three events.
