The hope for change that swept Barack Obama into the Oval Office has resulted in actions of shame.
The president’s approval numbers have tumbled at an alarming rate throughout the past six months, and Obama is reacting in an unhopeful manner.
Last weekend, in an interview with David Remnick in The New Yorker, President Obama attributed his ratings drop to race.
"There’s no doubt that there are some folks who just really dislike me because they don’t like the idea of a black president," said Obama to Remnick.
Mr. President, don’t insult us with this type of defense of the genuine disgust that a majority of the American people are beginning to feel about your leadership abilities.
There may be ignorant people who dislike you because you are black; many of those same people dislike others because they are white, or Catholic or Baptist. Those people are to be pitied.
The frustration people feel with your administration is not about race. It’s about the fact that you have been less than honest in your dealings with the Affordable Care Act, the Benghazi murders, the IRS scandal, the border gun scandal, and on and on.
Mr. President, we need a leader we can look up to in confidence. You have three more years in office, so please do our country a favor and jettison some of the folks you have surrounded yourself with. Appoint people who have no political agenda except to right our mighty ship of state.
Please put away the race card and accept the responsibility to which you were elected. Provide us with sound leadership; if you don’t our country will continue to teeter on the brink.
