The Newton County Board of Education is giving all residents an opportunity to give their suggestions on what the school board should look for when it hires a replacement for retiring Superintendent Gary Mathews.

The board has set up a survey that can be accessed at s.zoomerang.com/s/NewtonCommunitySurvey

We know that people often feel like they don’t have a voice, and that’s probably the case a fair amount of the time. But in this case, the school system is actively asking for your feedback, so give it to them. The survey is only nine questions along and only has one question that requires writing, so it shouldn’t take more than a few minutes.

This is a great opportunity for all community leaders, parents, grandparents, students and all those who love to arm-chair quarterback (we’ve all done it) to have the chance to help ensure that the Newton County school board is at least looking for the best person for the job.
