Run for the border, crooks

We can only assume that Michael Curtis Jackson of Ellenwood does not read newspapers. Just last week The News published an editorial suggesting that would be robbers and crooks not mess with our law enforcement officials here in Covington and Newton County.

Jackson is one of those suspected in the armed robbery of the local Taco Bell this weekend.

He is now the guest of Sheriff Ezell Brown at the Newton County Detention Center.

As of the time this editorial was written, two accomplices were still on the loose.

We want to praise the cooperation that was shown by the Covington Police Department, Conyers Police Department and the sheriff's department of Newton and Rockdale counties on this particular incident.

What we said last week we repeat: if you have robbing on your mind, do not come to Covington or Newton County because you will become the guests of Sheriff Brown and his staff, for sure.
