Covington has a history of having some outstanding fire chiefs run its fire departments.

Add the name of John McNeil to that list.

A few weeks ago, McNeil announced he was stepping down after leading the department for the past three and a half years.

We wish Chief McNeil well on his new adventures in life, and we are pretty sure that city officials will do a good job in finding us another dedicated chief to run one of the best departments in the state.
