Not taken for granted

Our friends at General Mills are good corporate neighbors.

Charitable giving is down nationally thanks to the current recession, but the demand has increased. And when many businesses have been forced to cut back on what they can give, General Mills has come through and provided grants to 23 non-profit organizations in the Covington area.

Recipients included public schools, fine arts programs, programs to prevent child abuse, the YMCA, the Boys and Girls Clubs, the Washington Street Community Center and the Rainbow Community Center.
These grants will touch the lives of thousands in Newton County, and provide a much-needed boost in a time of great need.

Thanks, General Mills, for giving back to the community.
