Newton Fund

The Newton Fund is an organization that provides funds for local non-profits and community projects from earnings made from generous donations of benefactors throughout the county and around the state.

The committee that administers this fund may not be well known, but they support our community, and each year honor a local volunteer.

This year Doug Bolton was chosen by the group to receive the coveted Pat Patrick Big Heart Award for his volunteer efforts in the county.

Bolton was given a $2,000 prize which he in turn donated to the Miracle League committee.

Other groups receiving grants from the Newton Fund included the Newton County Trail Path Foundation, Project Renewal, The Salvation Army, St.Vincent DePaul Society and the Washington Street Community Center. The value of these gifts was $18,000.

We applaud the Newton Fund committee for their efforts and we thank the families of Newton County who have contributed to this fund.
