Former Covington Mayor Kim Carter said her goodbyes at her last official city council meeting this week.
First, we want to thank her for her service. It takes courage and determination to run for any office today and it takes character to withstand the pressures of serving.
We have certainly had our disagreements with the mayor and some of those have been quite heated, but we also have praised her efforts on many occasions.
We have watched her grow as a community leader over her term; we know she believes in our community and every issue she fought for she felt would better the lives of her constituents.
We praise her for those efforts.
Even though she chose not to run for office again at this time, we hope that she will continue to be active in our community; her experience as the city’s mayor can only be helpful for our future economic growth.
