Independence Day

Today, we, as Americans, celebrate our great fortune because God led us to be born into or immigrate to the greatest nation the world has ever known.

As we celebrate the United States' 236th year of existence with families and friends, we do so with the knowledge that the freedoms set forth that day in 1776 are still true today.

This past week, the United States Supreme Court ruled on Obamacare and upheld many of the law's basic tenants, a decision that simultaneously resulted in exultation for some and stunned disbelief in others.

On one of the most divisive issues in America, the court upheld the law by the slimmest of majorities in a 5-4 vote, yet this county did not explode in riots and mass protests. Americans are satisfied to have the freedom to openly express their thoughts on this and other matters without fear of punishment, and they know that when they disagree with the direction of the country they can go to the ballot box to affect change.

We believe this is what our founding fathers envisioned in 1776, and this is the reaction Americans expect and the reason the country remains the greatest on earth.
Happy Birthday America and we pray God will continue to bless this country.
