There is a nonprofit in this town that just refuses to give up. The Garden of Gethsemane Homeless Shelter seems to have more lives than a cat.
Thanks to the untiring efforts of local businessman Sam Ramsey, the community has once again responded in a positive way to keep the shelter’s doors open.
The shelter is proof that, despite the economic hardships through which our community is still struggling, when there is a need, people here will reach into their wallets and find a way to give money so that others have food and shelter.
That’s just one reason, among many others, that Covington/Newton County is a great place to call home.
