In only its second year of existence, the Newton County Recreation Commission’s Little League team has taken a giant step in its quest to represent the region and Georgia at the Williamsport, Pa., Little League World Series.

The team, coached by Tinsley Baily, recently won the District 10 championship tournament in Oconee, beating Athens in the championship games.

The team goes on to Savannah to play the champions from Florida, Virginia and Alabama. The winner there will represent the region at Williamsport.

We wish our boys well, and we look forward to seeing them at Williamsport.
