A round of applause is due to the General Mills Corporation for donating 4.4 million boxes of cereal across the nation. Last week employees of our local plant loaded 10,000 boxes of Honey Nut Cheerios for Atlanta area food banks.
The Covington Food Pantry will, of course, have first dibs on the great Christmas gift.
For the past 20 years, General Mills has been a major business partner for the Newton County community.
This latest show of generosity is an excellent Christmas present for the less fortunate of our area and of our country. Thank you General Mills, and your employees, for this generous gift.
