There sure is a lot going on at this time of year. Most thoughts are on our children going back to school, and this year we have the added burden of trying to keep cool.
When this happens, the last group that is generally on our minds are the Food Banks, despite the fact we take good care of our own in Newton County.
Faithwork ministries and their local food banks are running at dangerously low levels.
We urge you to take some time look through those cabinets or when shopping put a few extra cans of durable food stuffs in your basket and run them by the Community Food Pantry located at 7125 Turner Lake Circle.
The pantry’s hours are 9 a.m. -11 a.m. Monday and Thursday and 9:30 a.m. till 1 p.m. on Tuesday and Fridays.
Your act of kindness will be appreciated by the hundreds of your neighbors who might be struggling during these economic times and need that added bit of caring that your food gift might provide.
