Christmas cheer in Social Circle
Placeholder Image
If you have been too busy this Christmas season to enjoy some time enjoying the parades and lighted homes of Christmas, then you have one final chance.

The city of Social Circle will be holding special Christmas activities Saturday starting at about 5:30 p.m.

The evening's activities include the first Circle of Lights parade sponsored by the city's Better Hometown organization.

Starting at 5:45 p.m. the parade will start on west Hightower, snake through downtown and end at the city park next to the post office. One of the joys of life is seeing the twinkle in a child's eyes as he sees Santa in a parade - yes, Santa will be making a last minute appearance at the parade.

The Social Circle Theater carolers will be entertaining the crowds and Pinnacle Bank employees will be serving hot chocolate.

Earlier in the day, the fifth annual Kruisers Car Show will take over the streets of Social Circle featuring more than 100 classic cars and vehicles.

The car show is open to all and registration is either $20 or an unwrapped toy or a donation to Operation Sandbox.

If you do visit Social Circle on Saturday and you haven't had your fill of fried green tomatoes, then you might want to dine at one of the top tourist attractions in the South, the Blue Willow Inn.

We suggest you make reservations.
