This year The Covington News is celebrating our 150th birthday.
Throughout the century and a half of our existence what we have reported in Newton County has changed a lot, and so has the way we report it.
Perhaps that has never been more evident than right now. Starting this Friday a new era begins for The Covington News and our community in the way we deliver “the story of your life.”
Our first ever Digital Paper will reach thousands of inboxes Friday morning, bringing The Covington News to you like never before.
In October The Covington News shifted its print publication schedule from Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, to Sunday with additional news in our Wednesday News & Advertiser. Since then we have been working hard to continue to bring the news to you through CovNews.com. Now we are combining the success of our print and web editions for an all-online newspaper.
The Covington News Digital Paper will be a 12-page edition every Friday for you to swipe or click through, featuring stories in text, photo and video format.
Our first edition, coming this Friday, will bring the sights and sounds of Blues music in Newton County alive. It will still contain the entertainment, sports and opinions regularly featured in The Covington News but in a clickable, more interactive fashion.
We feel this is the next step in media, and will push The Covington News and Newton County to a new level of information gathering and transparency.
To enjoy this free product, you either need to be a subscriber to The Covington News, giving you access to The Digital Paper, CovNews.com and the Sunday print edition, or a registered online user.
