Dear Editor: On behalf of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul of St Augustine Catholic Church, we would like to extend our appreciation to the merchants and residents of Newton and Rockdale counties and beyond who supported our Oct. 2 Silent Auction & Wine Tasting. As a result of your generous support, our fundraising goal was met and so many people will receive assistance.

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul provides assistance in the form of food, clothing, and shelter to the needy in Newton County. This mission of the Roman Catholic Church has been providing assistance since 1833 throughout the world.
