Dear Editor: Gen. Ray Davis (MOH) Detachment 1188 of Covington, Georgia, will be videoing all (not just League members) Marines who wish to tell their stories of their time in the Corps. Too many Marines take their stories to the grave and that piece of history is lost forever. We think that is a shame.

The format will be a round-table discussion where one Marine’s story may remind you of one from your past and then it will be your turn to tell your story. We have Marines coming who didn’t see combat to Marines who landed on the beach on Iwo Jima. We expect the stories to be humorous, sad, inspirational but mostly reminiscent for most of us. We will send this video to the Marine Corps League National Headquarters.

Navy Corpsmen who were attached to Marine units are also encouraged to come and participate. After all, you, too, are our brothers.

It will be held at the Little Red School House at 3130 Newton Dr., Covington, on Feb. 13 at 11 a.m. We do not know how long it will run.

For more information contact Senior Vice Commandant, Bud Malmstrom at (770) 713-7322.
