Dear Editor: There have been several news reports both on television and in the print media where Kathy Morgan is quoted as saying the land must all be acquired prior to getting permits for the proposed Bear Creek Reservoir.
This has been the reasoning behind the ‘immediate necessity’ for taking the Denby family’s property.
This information is incorrect. Mrs. Morgan. You can call the Commissioners in Walton County to verify they have their permits and have only acquired about 20 percent of the required property.
Would you mind telling your constituents who gave you this erroneous information?
In this time of budget crunch not condemning at this time would save the County $500,000.
No permits whatsoever have been issued for this project after over 10 years and may never be issued and the Denby property isnt going anywhere.
