Dear Editor: I have had the privilege to host and observe the cast and crew of the "Vampire Diaries" for the past week. They have been the most polite and courteous people I have ever worked with. I realize that the influx of people and traffic creates some temporary difficulties. All of my neighbors were very accommodating during the filming, and I thank them for understanding. The entire town of Covington benefits in several ways from house and furniture rentals, direct retail purchases to sales tax collected. I know this to be true since I have pointed out businesses that they were not aware of and gave directions to stores, restaurants and areas of interest. They also hire local crew members. We had at least 150 cast extras on site at one time. I wish Bonanza Productions much success with their new show and thank them for selecting the city of Covington. They obviously see the same good side of Covington that we do.
