Freedoms eroding

"The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized." -- The Fourth Amendment

Our freedoms have been under full attack recently by the government of the United States.

The Obama administration has attempted to water down the Second Amendment, and the Department of Justice has made a full frontal attack on the First Amendment by turning the IRS on conservative groups and secretly spying on the records of journalists.

Now the Supreme Court has stepped in and fractured the Fourth Amendment.

Allowing police to use DNA samples before a person is found guilty of a crime is an invasion of everything that is to be known about a person’s being and life.

Our Founding Fathers railed against a now-simple thing like a tea tax. What is it going to take for the American people to finally stand up and tell the government both on the local and federal levels that this unprecedented grab for power has to stop?

This is going to take courage and determination. We can only hope that there is enough of that left in the American spirit, the spirit that built and nourished this country, to stop this erosion of our freedoms before we won’t have the freedom to stop the abuses.
