Mr. Willie "Bill" Perry died May 16. He was born in Jasper County in 1928, the son of the late Mr. Perry and Ms. Lena Benton. He was one of four children and was preceded in death by his siblings: Pearl Strong, Johnny Lee Cooksey and Grace Perry. Mr. Perry grew up in Newton County. At a young age he joined Betha Bara Baptist Church. He served in the United States Army and worked for Hercules and Miami Stone, a devoted employee. Mr. Perry was the proud father of five children. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing. He had a very loving disposition, always willing to help others whenever he could.

Surviving are daughters Mrs. Barbara Seats, Mr. and Mrs. Robert (Willie Pearl) Dobbs, Ms. Diane Stanley; sons Mr. Darrell Stanley, Mr. Terry "Ricky" Stanley; step-daughter Mrs. Mattie Kate Johnson; special grandson Mr. Benn Curry; 24 other loving grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren; two special friends; a host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and dear friends.

Funeral services were held May 22 at Young Memorial Chapel with pastor Clara Lett, Minister Romasse Rogers and Minister Timothy Price officiating.
