William R. (Randy) Hudgins died peacefully on Wednesday, November 6, 2013. He was 77 years old.
Randy graduated from Decatur High in 1954. Shortly thereafter, he was employed with Bell South. He continued his telephone career, moving from Decatur to Covington, Jackson, Eatonton, McDonough, and back to Covington, where he retired in 1998.
Randy was accepted in 1979 to the Mansfield Masonic Lodge Chapter 489, where he served as the Past Master from 1983 to 1984. He was a devoted and dedicated member.
Randy loved mowing his pastures, Braves baseball, and the Atlanta Falcons. He was especially proud of his grandchildren, both soon to graduate from the University of Florida, the first Hudginses in his lineage to graduate from college.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Liz; daughter, Lynn; son, Andy; and grandchildren, Ethan and Jessica Hudgins. Also surviving are his brother, Doug, and his wife, Charlotte, and his niece, Stephanie Ghrohe.
A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, November 8, at New Rocky Creek Baptist Church, 190 Rocky Creek Road, Mansfield, with Dr. Randy Reese officiating. A reception will follow immediately after the service at the church.
