Mr. William L. Plunkett of Porterdale, 70, passed away Nov. 25.
Mr. Plunkett retired as a security guard, from Golden State Foods, after 30 years of service. He last attended The Church at Covington and enjoyed spending time with the youth in the churches he attended. He enjoyed camping, loved his family dearly and cherished his time with his grandchildren. Mr. Plunkett was preceded in death by his parents William Luke and Annie Mae (Durden) Plunkett; brothers-in-law D.L. Maddox and Eddie Martin; and his sister-in-law Betty Wiggins.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Lorine M. Plunkett; sons and daughters-in-law Mark and Roberta Plunkett of Covington, Stephen and Deneen Plunkett of Newborn; sisters and brother-in-law Yvonne and Wiley Wilson, Denise Martin; brothers and sisters-in-law Richard and Connie Plunkett, Joe and Gail Plunkett, Scott and Lisa Plunkett; grandchildren Jonathan and Eliysha Plunkett, David Plunkett, Drew Plunkett, Loralee Stelmac, Meighan Flowers, Daniel Fullen; great-grandchildren Austin Plunkett, Mackenzie Plunkett, Brody Plunkett, Annie Flowers, Abby Flowers; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law R.A. and Carolyn Maddox, Geneva Maddox; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Plunkett were held yesterday, Nov. 27, 11 a.m., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, with Pastor David Payne officiating, and interment followed in Lawnwood Memorial Park.
