William J. Macken (Mr. Bill), 65, of Porterdale, lost his battle with cancer Nov. 1. Born in Akron, Ohio, Mr. Macken was a retired stained glass artist.
Surviving are life partner David Boughton of Akron, Ohio; brothers Joseph Macken of Phoenix, Ariz., John Macken of Akron; sister Ita Macken of Akron; many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, in the Access Road chapel of Caldwell & Cowan with Tom Metzger of St. Augustine Catholic Church presiding. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in Mr. Bill's memory at www.cancer.org.
