On August 7, 2001, Pastor Dexter and Elect-Lady Shawanna Mitchell welcomed their fourth child, a beautiful baby girl they named Tishanna Shejuan Mitchell. She nicknamed herself "Meme". Tishanna quickly excelled in school and loved math, dance, singing and always dreamed of becoming a Disney Star!
Tishanna attended Clements Middle School and was an honor student. She sang in the school chorus and was a cheerleader. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Tishanna attended her father’s church, Praise Temple, where she danced on the girl’s dance team and sang in the youth choir.
Tishanna was brave and lived her life to the fullest. She trusted God with all her heart and even at her young age was not afraid to share the goodness of Jesus. Tishanna strongly believed her illness was not for her but to bring unity to the world. She felt lives would be saved through her story.
On September 17, 2015, Tishanna, our brave little princess, slipped off to heaven to dance with angels. Tishanna is preceded in death by: Grandmother: Ms. Linda Jackson; Great-Grandmother: Mrs. Essie Aiken; Aunt: Mrs. Pam Cody Reese; and Uncle: Mr. Eric Usher.

Tishanna leaves to honor her legacy: Parents: Pastor Dexter and Elect-Lady Shawanna Mitchell; two Brothers: Quintonious Hinton and Mr. Tervarius White; one Sister: Miss Gabrielle Mitchell;grandparents: Mr. Anthony Aiken and Mr. and Mrs. Curly (Louise) Usher; Great-Grandparents: Ms. Lizer Jackson, Mrs. Cora Mitchell, and Mr. Joe Lewis Byrd; Aunt: Mr. Felix and (Twawanna) Robinson;Uncles: Mr. Willie King, Mr. Darrell Mitchel, Mr. and Mrs.Terrance Mitchell, and Mr. Kelvin Usher;Special Cousins:TeMichael Lee, De’Arius Lee, Bridrecous Aiken, Jehden Robinson, Pamela Pitts, Bridget Farley, Nichelle Jackson, Chankeydria Jackson, Trayon Jackson, Loren Usher, and Justin Sawyer; Devoted Great-Aunts: Mr. and Mrs. Flemmie (Doris) Pitts, Ms. Vicky Freeman, Mr. and Mrs. Billy (Margaret) Lackey: Mr. and Mrs. William (Marjorie) Duncan; Ms. Minnie Benton and Ms. Shirley Heard; Devoted Great-Uncle: Mr. Alvin Reid; one nephew, Jamarion Strong,one niece, Aziah Hinton, Special Friends: Ikia Thomas, Deyonna Markey, Devon Reaves, and ahost of other aunts, uncles, cousins, family and faithful friends.
