Tanyetta L. Williams, 21, of Covington, died July 2. Known as Tan, Miss Williams was a feminist activist and a junior at Georgia State College majoring in political science. Miss Williams was a lover of music and sang at many churches and loved playing drums. She toured with several activist groups and was a sociable person. She surrounded herself with a diverse circle of friends. Desiring to have a positive impact in the lives of under-served brothers and sisters, Miss Williams worked in the Progressive Student Alliance.

Surviving are parents Kenneth and Ruby Smith Williams; sister Yolanda; twin sister Kenyatta; grandmother Archie D. Williams of Eatonton; several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. July 8 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church with Minister Ashley Dobbs officiating. Interment followed in Pleasant Grove, Eatonton
