Sonya Dooley Evans, 42, of Covington, passed away on July 27, 2013. She dearly loved her family and was very proud of her girls, Amber and Mackenzie. Mrs. Evans never met a stranger, and if you knew her, you loved her.

She enjoyed writing poetry and spending time with her family and friends. She will be missed by everyone who was lucky enough to know and love her. She was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Hazel (Duke) Dooley.

Survivors include her loving husband of 20 years Greg Evans; daughters Amber and Mackenzie Evans of Covington; father and step-mother Bennie and Martha Dooley of Greensboro; sister and brother-in-law Pam and Tommy Thomason; brother and sister-in-law Scott and Ellen Dooley; mother and father-in-law Liz and Ernest Evans; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Cissy and Frank Foster, Johnny and Kim Evans, Ernie and Serena Evans, all of Covington; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Funeral Services for Sonya were held July 30 at the chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home with Pastor Darrell Allen officiating; interment followed in Lawnwood Memorial Park. Visit www.caldwellandcowan.com to place online condolences.
