Mrs. Sarah Day, age 85, of Covington passed away Monday, August 24, 2015.  She was born January 3, 1930 in Lawrenceville, Georgia to the late Harvey and Minnie Smith King.  Mrs. Day met and married H. Denver Day and together they moved to Covington where Mr. Day was the manager of the Farmer’s Mutual Exchange.  She was a longtime member of The Baptist Tabernacle, joining there in 1970.  Mrs. Day taught Sunday school and sang in the choir for many years. She was known by her church family as the “Soul Winner” because she loved telling people about Jesus. Mrs. Day was preceded in death by her parents and 8 siblings. 

 She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sherrie and Keith Ellis of Covington; grandchildren, Will Ellis, Courtney Ellis and Charity Ellis, all of Covington. She is also survived by her numerous nieces and nephews, along with other family and close friends. 

Funeral services for Mrs. Day will be held at 12 o’clock noon, Saturday, August 29, 2015 in the chapel of J. C. Harwell & Son Funeral Home with interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on the day of the service from 10:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. J.C.
