Raymond J. Karp, Jr., of Covington, died July 23, 2009, at the age of 72. Mr. Karp retired from California Steel in Fontana, CA. After moving to Covington, he became a member of the Church at Covington, and was employed with the Covington Wal-Mart. Mr. Karp enjoyed fishing and playing cards. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Joseph, Sr., and Marjorie Ferguson Karp Bainbridge. Survivors include his wife, Donnetta Schreffler Karp; daughter, Michelle Silverthorn of Fontana, CA; sons and daughters-in-law, Kevin and Jackie Karp, Steven and Lorie Karp, Michael and Jennifer Karp, all of Covington, Jeffrey Karp of San Bernardino, CA; 7 grandchildren; and two sisters. A Memorial Service for Mr. Karp will be held Monday, July 27, 2009, 6 PM, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 3134 Floyd St., with Pastor Ron Stewart officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Monday, from 5 to 6 PM.
