Ralph Thomas, 83, of Covington, died at St. Mary's Hospital. The son of the late Henry C. and Lilly Mae Jones Thomas, he was born in Jasper County and was a member of Bethany Presbyterian Church. Mr. Thomas was retired from civil service at Ft. Gillem. Mr. Thomas enjoyed mechanics and dearly loved his family.

Surviving are wife Betty Ann Thomas of Covington; sisters Ellene Rosser of Covington, Margret Shaw of Decatur, Rose Fuller of Conyers, Bonnie English of Griffin, Gladis Woodham of Dallas, Evelyn Zimmerman of Restin, Va.; brother James Thomas of Cumming; numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Nov. 6 at Bethany Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Russell McKee officiating. Interment followed in Bethany Presbyterian Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Bethany Presbyterian Church, 1002 Bethany Road, Covington.
