Mrs. Patricia Carter Mitchell died July 30 at Rockdale Hospital. Mrs. Mitchell was born in 1949 in Covington, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Rillious (Addie Joe Reed) Fuller. "Mat Pat," as she was known by her family and friends, embraced life with zeal. As a single mother, she worked diligently to raise her five children; although it was an environment of humble beginnings, her love and God's grace was abundant. She did not let the pressures of being a single parent prevent her from imparting Christian values in the lives of her children and grandchildren. Mrs. Mitchell taught that the cornerstones of life lie in loyalty, love of God and family, trust, respect, integrity and honesty, and her children are the fruits of her labor and evidence of God's faithfulness. You could often find her running up and down the football field, cheering during a basketball game or sharing words of wisdom to all she encountered. She also had savvy dance moves. A lifelong member of Murray CME Church, she served as trustee and as an usher for numerous years greeting all with her infectious smile.
