Mrs. Norma J. Travis, 80, of Covington, passed away Jan. 15, following a long illness. She and her husband Glenn were active members of the First United Methodist Church, in Covington.

She attended college at Brigham Young University, in Ogden, Utah, Sul Ross State University, in Alpine, Texas, and Georgia State University.

She was actively involved in local and state political activities where she made significant contributions. Mrs. Travis is loved, and will be missed by her family and friends.

Survivors include her husband of 61 years Glenn W. Travis; daughters Priscilla Travis, Melinda D'Aun McKittrick; son Steven F. Travis; daughter-in-law Michelle Travis; granddaughters Allison Travis, Kierston McKittrick; grandsons Glenn W. Travis II, Atticus McKittrick and Zachary McKittrick.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow, Jan. 19, at First United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Dr. Douglas Gilreath officiating, and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Jan, 18.
