Obituary
Ms.Ottavia Dorlene Dorsey Arnold "Cookie" was born to the union of Mr. Willie Dorsey and the late Mrs. Christine Dorsey, November 29, 1958 in Covington Georgia. She was born into eternity on December 5, 2013. Her mother, Christine D. Green preceded her in death.
She received Christ at an early age at Bethlehem Baptist Church, Covington Georgia. After relocating to Chicago, Illinois, she attended various churches.
At the age of six, the family relocated to Chicago, where she attended Saint Anselm Catholic Elementary School and Aquinas Dominican High School, where she graduated high school. She received a degree from Olive Harvey College.
"Ottavia" was a very unorthodox person. She was always strong willed and would try anything. That's why she chose the construction industry as a carpenter by trade. She was employed in this area for over thirty-three years, with various companies in construction. She was a member of the local union 582 until her transition.
Her nieces and nephews loved her energy, which was full of life, even in her last days she showed what true faith was. She never gave up and she fought a good fight. She would uplift the people that visited her, instead of them lifting her up. One of her favorite sayings was "If you want a pity party this is not the place, come back when you get it right". Her Radiant, beautiful smile will always be remembered.
"Ottavia" leaves us to cherish the memories of her life; father, Mr. & Mrs. Willie Dorsey, Decatur, Georgia, Sisters, Minister Jennifer D. Simmons, Oxford, Georgia and Mr. & Mrs. Alvin (Andreane) Sanders, Atlanta, Georgia, brothers, Mr. Anthony Dorsey, Oxford, Georgia and Mr. Marcus Dorsey, Atlanta, Georgia, four nieces; Catalata, LaShon, Kisha and Cammisha, four nephews; Lil Tony, Travis, Martel and Aiden, her favorite "child" (Pet) B. U. B. B. A. will remember "Auntie Dee's" loud laughter and jokes. A host of other relatives (aunts, uncles and cousins), friends and others, whose lives she touched, will cherish the memories of her big smile and warm heart.
