Mrs. Sally J. Hawkins, age 96, of Social Circle passed away Sunday, January 15, 2012.  She was born September 19, 1915 in Social Circle to the late Rufus Mahlon and Clifford Mae Swords Jackson.  Mrs. Hawkins was a native of Walton County, a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Covington for many years and she worked at Newton Medical Center, Covington Mill and Bibb Manufacturing during her career.  Mrs. Hawkins was a loving wife, mother grandmother great grandmother great-great grandmother sister and friend.  She was preceded in death by her husband Mr. A. Switzer Hawkins, son Raymond Hawkins and 10 brothers and sisters.

Mrs. Hawkins is survived by her Daughter and Son-in-law, Shirley and Darold Vissering of Social Circle, Sons and Daughters-in-law; Reverend Kenneth Dudley and Patricia Hawkins of Jackson, Mr. Tony and B.J. Hawkins of Covington and Daughter-in-law, Jan Hawkins of Tampa, Florida along with 13 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren.  She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other family and close friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Hawkins will be held3 O’clock Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at the Chapel of J.C. Harwell & Son Funeral Home with Reverend Todd Heil, officiating. Interment will follow at Covington Mill Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6pm until 8pm on Tuesday, January 17, 2012.  J.C.
