Mary A. Leasure, formerly of 933 Rosedale Avenue, Kingston, Tennessee, age 84, passed away suddenly on September 10, 2014. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl “Lucky” Leasure, in 1997. She moved to Atlanta in 2003 to join her children, daughter Barbara Leasure and son-in-law Dr. Michael Henry; son Steven Leasure, and daughter-in-law Holly and their son, Adam; and son Michael Leasure and daughter-in-law Dr. Renee Butler and their children, Matthew and Christopher Leasure. She lived independently in Conyers, Georgia, until May 2013 when she joined Steve, Holly and Adam in Douglasville.
She is also survived by her sister, Frances Waldman, of Williamsport, Pennsylvania, and several nieces and nephews. Mary was originally from Williamsport Pennsylvania.
Earl and Mary owned Midtown Machine Shop in Midtown, Tennessee, during the 1970s and 80s, and Mary was also an antique and collectibles dealer. While she was always interested in collectibles, she was also a voracious reader and enjoyed watching tennis and golf. She was 79 when she first became a grandmother, and her greatest passion was spending time with her family and staying in touch with family and friends.
The family will receive friends and celebrate memories at Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Rd., Covington, GA 30014 on Monday Sept. 15th from 5-7 p.m. There is no graveside service so the family requests memorials be sent to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
