Mrs. Marie O’Connor Adams, age 88, of the Covington-Social Circle area since 1980 and formerly of Sandy Springs, passed away October 8, 2013.  She was born January 15, 1925 to the late Col. Charles and Marie Ballentyne O’Connor in Fort Sill, Oklahoma.  Mrs. Adams received her B.A. from Stanford University.  She was a wonderful seamstress, and owned “Sunday Best”, a smocking shop in Social Circle for a number of years.  Mrs. Adams was a longtime member of Peachtree Presbyterian Church. 

Mrs. Adams is survived by her husband Charles N. Adams, Jr., her children and their spouses: Nancy Tiede, of Social Circle, Charles N. III and Jackie Adams of Harrisburg, PA and Mark and Beth Adams of Marietta.  She is also survived by her grandchildren: Lt. Col. Michael and Elena Tiede, Christopher and Jeannie Tiede, Heather and Matt Johnston, Maj. David and Lauren Adams, Charles IV and Danielle Adams, Mark and Denise Adams, Jennifer and Matt Sandlin, and Andrew and Jessica Adams along with 14 great- grandchildren. 

Graveside services for Mrs. Adams will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, October 10, 2013, at Westview Cemetery with Major David Adams officiating.  The family will receive friends from 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. on Wednesday, October 9, 2013, at the home of Nancy Tiede.  J.C.
