Mrs. Johnie Fillyaw Tuck

Mrs. Johnie Fillyaw Tuck, age 95, a lifelong resident of Covington passed away March 27, 2012 at Merryvale Assisted Living. She was born in the Alcovy Community of Newton County on January 12, 1917 to the late John Samuel and Annie Coody Fillyaw. Mrs. Tuck was a devout Christian and lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Covington, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend who enjoyed spending time with her family, reading and traveling. She was preceded in death by her husband Mr. Holland Briscoe Tuck in 2003.
Mrs. Tuck is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law; Anne and A.J. Spillers and Fran and Buddy Brown all of Covington, grandchildren; Tom and Patty Spillers, Lance and Sangmi Spillers, Trey Brown and Timothy Brown, great grandchildren; Sophia Brown and Mason Brown. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other family and close friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. Tuck will be held at 11 O'clock Thursday, March 29, 2012 at First Baptist Church of Covington with Reverend Len Strozier officiating. Interment will follow at Covington City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5pm until 7pm on Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at the funeral home. J.C.
